| Last night the Lake Carmel Fire Dept. was sent into action along with all the other volunteer fire departments in Putnam County. Although a storm was expected last night, nobody predicted the severity of the storm. Once the storm invaded our county the phones at Putnam 911 didn't stop ringing all night long. Lake Carmel did have the usual tree and wires down calls that come along with these types of events. Several road are still closed today as NYSEG continues to clean up and restore power to the area. We responded to several wires down calls, an automatic commercial fire alarm and an ambulance call. The fire department along with Kent Police were kept busy but no injuries were reported due to the storm. |
