On Monday, April 15th at 2:30 am, the Lake Carmel Fire Department was requested mutual aid to Brewster for a working structure fire. Upon arrival, our crew was assigned to stage as the FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team). Due to limited manpower, our team split up, with three members assisting the crews inside to extinguish the fire. We also provided assistance with ventilation and conducted a secondary search to ensure the structure was unoccupied. One firefighter received treatment on site for minor injuries. The Putnam County Fire Investigation Team was contacted to determine the cause of the fire.
