| This week is Fire Prevention Week, we’re reminding everyone that lithium-ion batteries are in many of the things we use every day — phones, tablets, e-bikes, power tools, and more.
While convenient, these batteries can be dangerous if damaged or misused. Protect yourself and your home with these simple tips:
✅ Use only the charger that came with your device
🚫 Don’t charge batteries overnight or on beds/couches
🔥 Stop using batteries that feel hot, swollen, or damaged
🧯 Charge devices on a hard, flat, nonflammable surface
♻️ Recycle old or damaged batteries — never throw them in the trash
If a battery smokes or catches fire, get out, stay out, and call 911!
Let’s keep our community safe — one charge at a time! ⚡ |
